Karima is a consummate instructor of Arabic (both formal Modern Standard Arabic and spoken North African dialect, also known as Darija) and French. I studied independently 1-2 times a week with Karima for two years from 2018-2020. She not only helped me maintain the Arabic and French that I learned at a Columbia University, but helped me gain fluency in spoken Arabic. I used the Arabic that Karima taught me in my work as a journalist and it gave me the foundation I needed when I ultimately moved to Morocco. Karima is not only a brilliant language instructor with a wide range of cultural and literary knowledge about the Middle East and North Africa, but she is also a warm and generous person who was very accommodating of my often fluctuating schedule. I can't recommend Karima enough. I've studied Arabic at the highest academic levels and she is by far the best instructor that I've Ever had.
